Our Story

Founded in 1985 by Fran Murrin, the vision for With Taste was to create a company with people who shared a passion for culinary excellence, combined with a natural flair for service and attention to detail.

When Fran founded the business, she quickly established a reputation for creativity and high standards, whether the client event was an intimate dinner party in their home or a gala dinner for 500 people. She was passionate about food and hospitality and her dedication to the industry was amplified through her work at With Taste and with its customers. She was recognised throughout the catering industry for her passion for excellence combined with her generosity of spirit.

Fran and her close-knit team pioneered many new developments in the Dublin catering scene in the 80s and 90s. She was the first proud proprietor of Chapter One restaurant in 1993, at a time when fine dining on Dublin’s northside wasn’t “de rigueur.” She and her team worked amazingly hard to make it work at the time, but sadly it wasn’t to be and she closed the restaurant after 12 months. Chapter One was subsequently re-born a year later under the wonderful guiding hand of the young Ross Lewis, who has since gone on to make the restaurant a true hallmark of culinary excellence, representing the very best in Irish food and hospitality.

We were very proud to work in conjunction with Ross Lewis to deliver probably the most important and historic State Banquet ever hosted by the Irish Government, for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II in 2011, held in Dublin Castle.

This historic event is part of With Taste’s entertainment repertoire, which is an evolution of hospitality throughout the years and has seen some truly iconic events in both the public, private and corporate arenas. In 1993, a biblical number of 5,500 people sat for dinner in Royal Dublin Society, Simmonscourt, Dublin for the International Golden Oldies Rugby Festival. This still remains as the record for a sit-down banquet in Ireland. While none have broken this number, there have been some significantly large and prestigious events of note over the years; the International Bar Association in 2012 saw 3,875 people dine in the RDS, in 2013 the EU Presidency Dinner was held in Dublin Castle and was attended by world leaders, also held in Dublin Castle was the inauguration dinner of President Mary McAleese in 1997 and more recently in 2016, the 1916 Centenary Commemoration saw 4,000 people dine in the RDS and 3,500 in Dublin Castle.

With Taste is now based at its Culinary Centre and Head Office in west Dublin, which serves as the nerve centre and hub for all of the business’s activities, large and small.

Today, our ethos is still at the forefront of what we do, we have a proven pedigree in delivering the highest standards to our clients and customers with a savoir-faire and ability that has given us the distinction as the leader in our field. We are still Ireland’s largest family-run indigenous corporate catering company, with a young, vibrant team who are passionate about food and hospitality.
