In 2011, a momentous dinner took place at Dublin Castle in Honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The State dinner was attended by over 160 guests, many of whom were made up of government officials from both England and Ireland.
The extensive guest list not only included members of State from both countries, but also included some of Ireland’s best known poets, writers and sportsmen. Nobel Laureate and one of Ireland’s best-loved poets Seamus Heaney, as well as Irish rugby star Brian O’Driscoll, were in attendance at the dinner, alongside noted dignitaries such as the British Prime Minister David Cameron and our own an Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
